Cold Plunge With Chiller for Home | DI LARA Guide
DI LARA JOURNAL / HOME COLD / CONTROLLED
The difference between a portable ice bath and a temperature-controlled cold plunge is often what happens between sessions: the cooling, the maintenance and the preparation.

- Choose between external and integrated cooling.
- Check compatibility before purchasing a separate chiller.
- Plan filtration, cleaning, power and ventilation together.
What does a chiller change?
A chiller is a temperature-control component, not a guarantee of a particular health effect. It circulates water and removes heat to help maintain a selected temperature within operating limits. Compared with repeatedly adding ice, cooling equipment may make the routine more consistent. Actual performance depends on water volume, insulation, room temperature, air circulation and the cooling capacity specified for the equipment. Water hygiene and a safe electrical installation remain essential with either approach.
External chiller versus built-in
An external chiller works with a compatible tub through hoses and connections. This arrangement can suit a modular portable plunge but requires a separate equipment location and plumbing access. An integrated system places cooling and the plunge in one product architecture, such as DI LARA All In One. Integrated does not mean maintenance-free: filter access, water changes, ventilation and service procedures still matter.
Cold Pod + Chiller
Cold Pod is a compact portable plunge offered in a standalone version and a Cold Pod + Chiller configuration. It makes sense to compare the tub-only and combined options based on use frequency, placement, access to ice and operating preferences. The standalone DI LARA Chiller 1HP is described as compatible with selected external-chiller configurations. Confirm the exact contents of the chosen bundle before checkout.
Air Plunge + Chiller
Air Plunge is the insulated inflatable alternative for users who prefer a portable horizontal-format tub. Its variants also distinguish between tub-only use and a compatible chiller configuration. Choose based on room dimensions, the importance of insulation and whether the setup will be packed away or used in a dedicated space. An external chiller should have adequate airflow and appropriately routed hoses, while the surrounding floor must tolerate water exposure.
All In One and dual-temperature alternatives
All In One is a cold-only system with integrated cooling intended for a more permanent-looking wellness environment. Dual-Temp Performance Plunge is the distinct option when both warming and cooling water are desired: its current specifications list a 1 HP integrated heating/cooling system and a 3–40°C range. These should not be confused with a standalone external chiller accessory.
Water care, filters and sanitation
Filtration captures some particles, but does not automatically make the water microbiologically safe. Follow each system's approved cleaning, treatment and water-change procedures. A chiller with filtration or ozone features still needs a defined maintenance regimen. Inspect hoses and fittings regularly, follow electrical wet-area protection rules and do not improvise with extension leads. See the DI LARA water-care guide for hygiene fundamentals.
Which home deserves which setup?
Choose for everyday reality: space, transport access, drainage, frequency of use and ease of cleaning. A compact modular tub might be preferable to a heavier integrated unit in a small home. For a planned wellness room, one integrated system may simplify the visual arrangement. Confirm the filled weight and structural suitability, especially in upper floors and balconies, before purchasing. Visit Find Your Plunge for the side-by-side comparison.

Questions worth asking
Will a chiller eliminate all ice use?
In appropriate operating conditions it is designed to cool the water without routine ice additions. Actual performance depends on setup and ambient conditions.
Can I connect DI LARA Chiller 1HP to Dual-Temp?
The standalone Chiller 1HP is not described as an add-on for systems with integrated temperature control.
Does ozone mean I never need to clean the water?
No. Maintain filtration, sanitation and water changes according to manufacturer instructions.
Which system can heat as well as cool?
The Dual-Temp Performance Plunge is the model currently specified with both functions.
